Airlines considers Weekends as Saturday and Sunday and they add something called as a weekend surcharge in the Base fare .So always book on a weekday unless you have to travel on a weekend .If you are thinking which day to book on a weekday? Then the answers is Tuesday or Wednesday since everybody likes to leave before the weekend say Thursday or Friday and return after the weekend on a Monday you can get the lower fares on Tuesday or Wednesday

Advance Booking

Airlines have an advance date restriction that they have on lower fares and those fares may not appear close to the departure date .Try to book at least 3 months in advance since most of the airlines have an advance purchase date ranging from 7 days to 3 months.

One Way Tickets

One way tickets is booked when you are not sure about the return date or you are using another mode of transport say Cruise, Road or a Train .One way tickets are expensive, especially for international Travel. Check the price of a round trip ticket instead of a one way. The round trip fares could be lower than a one-way ticket and you can book the last return date that you can find and then change the date later by paying the change fees and fare difference or just cancel the return flight.

You will be surprised to find out that a particular offer may even give you up to 10 percent off or a discount of a fixed amount on your flights or hotels bookings.

Some of us prefer to book with travel agents while others prefer to book it online on travel websites .Both charge you a service fee while Airline website does not charge you any service fee. After checking with a travel agent or a travel website always check the airline websites to see if they have a lower fare .They will not charge you a service fee and may even give you a lower fare.

Seat sales are promotional fares is offered by the Airlines so they can fly with most passenger capacity Always keep a look out for any seat sales or promotions that the airlines may have especially in the low season as they do not want to make any losses and are ready to Discount passengers at the last-minute as well by coming up with last minutes fares
